~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ EMAIL Sent Tuesday, September 05, 2000 7:46 PM: From: "Donna Wenberg" To: "Current RAS Webring Membership" "Copy to Ring Manager File" Cc: "Assistant Ring Manager" Subject: "Redsal Appreciation Society Webring; NEW Changes" Greetings to all RAS Webring Members! As your NEW, full-time Ring Manager, I'm writing to explain some of the changes occurring in the Redsal Appreciation Society Webring and Webring, Inc.. ~*~Redsal Appreciation Society Webring~*~ - As of last week, Raubyn Blackburn (The Woodro) has stepped down as Co-Ring Manager of the RAS Webring because of personal committments. I have moved from Co-Ring Manager to full time Ring Manager. - The position of Helper has been replaced with an Assistant Ring Manager. Dave Driskell (New RAS Webring Member-to-be) will be replacing Lisa Harraden, who has also stepped down because of personal committments, and filling the new position. - The Homesite of The NEW Redsal Appreciation Society Webring has changed from: http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/6011/redsal.html to http://www.belle-estates.com/raswebring/ (Please note that some of the usual webpages at the new site have been taken offline until the new links for Joining or Editing have been confirmed in the new webring system.) - Other links of interest that have changed in the past year are: Redsal's Midis moved from AOL: http://members.aol.com/redsal/webpage/sal.htm to Redsal's Midis, his own domain: http://www.redsal.com With an email address of Redsal@redsal.com . Please update your links at your website(s) accordingly. Thank you :-). ~*~Webring Inc. - Yahoo! Webring~*~ Beginning today, September 5, 2000: The Yahoo! Webring merger that occurred two years ago has finally come about with changes in how webrings will function. Today a new Yahoo! Webring emerged - not without first day/week problems in transition of old webrings. For now, the old HTML Code Fragments in use will continue to work. There is a new server-side script code fragment setup available for websites transitioning to the new Yahoo! Webring. To utilize the new server-side code, every member and ring manager will need to sign up for (if you do not currently have one) a Yahoo! ID. With this Yahoo! ID you can ASSOCIATE all your current Site ID Numbers in all webrings you are a member of under one ID. This will give you access for updating site information in one convenient place. To read more about the new Yahoo! Webring, go here: http://dir.webring.yahoo.com/h/newwr.html Look for more updates from me this week as the bugs are worked from the new system. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ If you have any questions or concerns in regards to the RASWebring and/or Yahoo! Webring changes, please write me. I look forward to serving you as your new, full-time Ring Manager. Sincerely, Donna O.
